Objectives
Air New Zealand considers sponsorship of national and international events or organisations which provide Air New Zealand the opportunity to;
- communicate Air New Zealand's brand values and attributes to our target audience
- increase awareness of New Zealand as a visitor destination and Air New Zealand as the airline of choice to travel to New Zealand in key inbound tourism markets.
- generate revenue for Air New Zealand & stimulate demand for travel outside of peak periods of demand.

Air New Zealand's sponsorship portfolio is focused on events or organisations that;
- are distinctive to New Zealand and reflect and reinforce Air New Zealand's position as New Zealand's national carrier
- are relevant to our broad customer base - both in New Zealand and in our key tourism markets
- communicate all our brand values.

Information required in Sponsorship Proposals
All proposals must be in writing and must include the following information:
- Background on the sponsorship opportunity
- An overview of your Marketing Plan, if applicable
- A brief background on your company & key sub-contractors
- Information on the target audience including estimated attendance, if applicable
- Timeline, including important deadlines
- A list of confirmed sponsors
- Investment required from Air New Zealand
- Concise description of the opportunity including the rights and benefits you are offering Air New Zealand. In particular, please provide information on provision of the following benefits;
- Naming rights to the event or a component of the event
Media time or space
- Content on your internet site
- Access to existing databases or opportunity to generate databases
- Benefits that could be offered to Air New Zealand's passengers
- Hospitality opportunities
- Generation of revenue for Air New Zealand
- Opportunity to be exclusive air travel provider or to develop travel packages to the event
- Access to celebrities.
Please note;
- Air New Zealand does not sponsor individual's requests for travel.
- A six-month minimum lead time is required for all proposals.

All proposals are assessed by the Sponsorship Manager and, if necessary, other departments within Air New Zealand. Every applicant will be advised in writing of the outcome of their proposal within 4 weeks.
Philanthropy
Air New Zealand provides philanthropic support to a number of organisations. Air New Zealand's focus is on providing support to national charitable organisations that support children in need and preserving New Zealand's natural environment.
Air New Zealand supports Make a Wish in both New Zealand and Australia. In addition to our partnership with Make a Wish, Air New Zealand provides support to a number of children's charities. These include;
