Seat Request

You can now request your own seat(s) for all domestic flights with Air New Zealand as part of our online check-in, at no extra change.

We know that being able to request your own seat is an important part of booking a flight. Whether you're making a new booking, or would like to request a seat for a booking previously made, you can now do it online now.


How to request a seat

Domestic travel

You can request your seat when you check-in online for your domestic flight. If seat request is available for your flights a 'seat request and check-in' button will be displayed at the end of the booking process. Alternatively, you can retrieve your booking at a later date and if seat request is available for your flight(s), select the 'seat request and check-in' button. For seat requests when travelling domestically you have the advantage of requesting your own seats and being checked-in for your flight, saving time at the airport.

International travel

Online seat requests for international flights are not currently available.

If you would like to request your seat for an international flight, please call our customer support on 0800 737 000 or ask at the airport when checking-in.
